Markets We Serve
Holography & Optical Technologies
Holograms, optically variable devices and other visual security features — the intelligence behind how brands and documents are protected from counterfeiting.
Optical security features — holograms, optically variable devices, colour-shifting inks and the diffractive technologies behind them — are one of the first lines of defence against counterfeiting on banknotes, ID documents, tax stamps and branded packaging alike. Reconnaissance International has tracked this specialist field since our founding in 1988, following the technologies, manufacturers and applications that keep genuine products and documents distinguishable from fakes, for security printers, brand owners, document issuers and technology suppliers worldwide.
Holography & Optical Technology News is our dedicated title for the sector, covering optical security feature technology, manufacturing developments and applications across currency, identity documents, tax stamps and brand protection. It is the publication the optical security community turns to first.
We bring the sector together in person through our own conference portfolio — including Optical & Digital Document Security, the Security Designers Forum, the Tax Stamp & Traceability Forum and our High Security Printing series across Asia and EMEA — plus specialist forums on the design and production challenges facing optical security professionals today.
Where clients need more than news, our consultancy team draws on the same first-hand knowledge that underpins our publications and events to provide market research, competitive intelligence and government advisory work for security printers, brand owners and technology providers.
